Enjoy the charm of pipe organ with international masters
Update: 2023-09-21     Source: GDToday

On the evening of September 22, a pipe organ concert featuring top musicians will be held at the Xinghai Concert Hall in Guangzhou, presenting works of J. S. Bach, Louis Vierne, Jean-Philippe Rameau, Cesar Franck, Gabriel Fauré and other famous composers.

Daniel Zaretsky from Russia, head of the Faculty of Organ and Harpsichord at the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire, will grace the first half of the concert with German, French, and British pipe organ works. His stylistically diverse repertoire includes David N. Johnson's "Trumpet Tune in D major", J. S. Bach's "Fantasia in G major, BWV 572", Percy Fletcher's "Festival Toccata" and many others.

The second half of the concert will feature more French repertoire presented by Jean-Baptiste Robin, one of the foremost organists of France and organist of the Royal Chapel at the Palace of Versailles. Audiences will enjoy Jean-Philippe Rameau's "Les Sauvages", Gabriel Fauré's "Après un rêve (After a dream)", Robin's "Chant du Ténéré (The Song of the Ténéré)" and more classical pieces.
