From September 10th to 17th, the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra (GSO) will celebrate the 65th anniversary of its foundation with a national tour, featuring four concerts in Guangzhou, Wuhan, Changsha and Chengdu.

According to GSO, two new repertoires dedicated to the 65th anniversary called"Du Hui(都會(huì))" and "the Joy of Suffering (悲喜同源)"will be played during the tourtitled"COLMO Beauty, Global Friendship — GSO's 65th Anniversary Tour".
Furthermore, the Enigma Variations, awell-know work createdby composer Edward Elga, will be staged.

Zhou Tian,acomposer whohad a nominationof the Grammy Awards, believes that a work can demonstrate the cultural attributes of a symphony orchestra, while an orchestra represents the cultural ethos of a city. "By working with them, I can tell that it is a professional, efficient and first-class orchestra with a unique sound field."
