The second phase of Guangzhou Metro Line 14 is scheduled to start operation ahead of the 15th National Games in late November, marking a major milestone in the city's rail network expansion.
Running approximately 11.9 kilometers north to south, the Phase II extension includes eight stations, with Xinshixu Station providing interchange services with Line 12. The segment from Lejia Road to Jiahe Wanggang is set to open by the end of this year, while the section across Guangzhou Railway Station remains under construction.
The new stretch serves key commercial and high-traffic zones such as Jiahe Wanggang, Henan Creative Industry Park, Baiyun New Town, and Xinshi. It is expected to significantly enhance metro coverage, ease travel for residents and commuters in Baiyun District, alleviate road traffic congestion, and strengthen rapid transit connections between Conghua and downtown Guangzhou.
The new section will operate using the same six-carriage Type B trains as the existing Line 14 Phase I, capable of reaching a maximum speed of 120 km/h. Upon opening, it will be fully integrated with the first phase for seamless operation. Trains will run all day along the "Lejia Road–Dongfeng" route, with peak-hour frequencies of approximately six minutes.
Both fast and regular train services will be available. Fast trains will maintain stops at the same major stations as in Phase I—Jiahe Wanggang, Baiyun Dongping, Xinhe, Conghua Coach Terminal, and Dongfeng—while also stopping at every station within the new section.
Additional services will be introduced from Xialiang to Lejia Road during morning peak hours on weekday, and from Lejia Road to Taiping on Sunday evenings.
The journey from Lejia Road Station to Dongfeng Station will take approximately 67 minutes on regular trains and 59 minutes on express services.
Once the new section opens, passengers who currently transfer at Jiahe Wanggang to reach the city center may opt to transfer at the less crowded Xinshixu Station for a smoother travel experience.
