On March 30, a truck driver from outside Guangdong tested positive for COVID-19. The details are as follows:
The patient is a 44-year-old male truck driver who arrived in Nansha at around 0:00 on March 30. He tested positive at 20:00 on the same day, and the reviewed result from Guangzhou CDC also came back positive in the early morning of March 31. The patient was then sent to Guangzhou No.8 People's Hospital for isolation and observation. He exhibited no clinical symptoms.
In response, relevant municipal and district departments launched an emergency plan which includes epidemiological investigation, contact tracing, as well as control and disinfection measures on key exposure sites. Currently, every identified close and secondary contact has been quarantined, and COVID-19 testing and other response measures are well underway.
For the time being, 8 key exposure sites have been identified.
If you have visited any of these key sites, you are required to report to your residential community (village) immediately,take a test at a nearby testing point and cooperate with the health management measures as required by your residential community (village) and the local CDC.
We should remain alert during the long battle with COVID-19. Please wear a mask properly and comply with the safety protocols, including scanning and presenting the health codes as required, taking your temperature, and monitoring your health. Once you develop any COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, dry cough, malaise, reduced sense of smell and taste, nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, conjunctivitis, myalgia, and diarrhea, go to the nearest fever clinic immediately with proper self-protection. In this case, public transport should be avoided.
