The General Administration of Customs of China recently released the 2024 national performance evaluation results for comprehensive bonded zones across the country. The Nansha Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Guangzhou was once again rated as Class A, making it the only special customs supervision area in Guangdong Province to maintain this top rating for four consecutive years.
Notably, the zone has ranked first for six straight years in the category of "import and export value of cross-border e-commerce businesses."
Since its establishment in October 2008 with approval from the State Council, the zone has undergone multiple upgrades. It became operational in 2009 after passing initial inspections, and was integrated into the China (Guangdong) Pilot Free Trade Zone in 2015, and upgraded to a comprehensive bonded zone in 2020. In 2025, its enclosed area was expanded to include two new industrial platforms.
In recent years, Nansha has focused on developing new forms of foreign trade. It has established a high-quality demonstration project for e-commerce product distribution with the most extensive range of goods and built a shared airport hub for the Greater Bay Area. This hub integrates an e-commerce consolidation export model, creating a seamless import and export channel that combines sea and air ports.
From January to July this year, Nansha's cross-border e-commerce import and export volume reached 47.5 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 76%.
